‘Where the Trail Turns’ by Alexandra Verboom Fritz.
Original oil on 14 × 11 x 1.5 inch canvas.
Where the Trail Turns follows a cowgirl and a band of cattle climbing toward higher country along a narrow mountain trail. Winding through timber and steep terrain, the route reflects the seasonal movement of livestock in search of fresh forage.
Inspired by the mountain rangelands of Western Canada, this piece celebrates the knowledge of both land and livestock required to guide cattle through country where the trail itself often determines the pace of the work.
Framed in a unstained wood floater frame.
