Cowboy Landscape: Along for the Ride
‘Along for the Ride‘ by Alexandra Verboom Fritz.
Acrylic on 36 x 48 x 1.5 in canvas.
Framed in a natural unstained wood floater frame ready to be installed.
Along for the Ride reflects one of ranching's most enduring traditions: sharing a way of life with the next generation. As a child rides quietly atop a trusted horse while her father walks alongside, the scene captures the small moments where connection to the land is built through experience rather than instruction.
The figures are based on a photograph of my oldest daughter riding with her father. The surrounding landscape is inspired by British Columbia's Nicola Valley, whose rolling grasslands and open skies provide a fitting backdrop for a story of heritage, family, and belonging.
